The Research Centre is easily accessible by car (there is limited free parking, with plenty of pay and display spaces nearby). Travel by bus is an easy option with convenient stops just around the corner. Cosham Railway Station is also a short distance away. The centre is situated on the ground floor with disabled access. Tea and coffee may be be purchased on the premises. Refreshments available in many local shops and the cafes near the High Street.
Four computers give access to a wide range of HGS and many other national and international resources, together with access to findmypast.co.uk. Other printed material includes articles/information on Hampshire parishes as well as general reference/guidance published by the SOG, FFHS etc. Further details are available on our Search Services and Aids to Research page.
A catalogue is available on receipt of an SAE to the Research Centre.
A printout service is available at 35p per copy (copyright regulations apply).
Internet access is also now available to researchers.
It is hoped to build up the Society’s collection of material, and if anyone has any Hampshire items that they may wish to donate please contact either Dolina Clarke or Val Casey in the Research Centre.
